Problem 1: self driving cars, you hear about it everywhere on the media, but is it truly safe? An example that the lecture gave was how there are no guarantees letting the car drive. the car that drove over 700,000 miles hit another car just last month. since the computer programs that drive these cars are also built by humans, there can also be flaws in the computer system. another argument mentioned in the lecture is that more people will start driving, causing more pollution in the atmosphere. since cars will be driving on their own, there will be no need for drivers licenses as well as age restrictions, causing more people to use this method of transportation more than ever before. Lastly, the lecture mentions that the “extra time”saved from not having to focus on driving is pointless. people are used to the environment of driving and may actually enjoy going on a drive while listening to their favorite music or radio. self driving cars would be like a scene from a sci-fi movie but they may have their doubts.

Hello, I have a question, can we take notes during the test?
Amina Ramazan says
Got a question
In the writing task 1 aren't they gonna show the reading passage when we'll be answering the question?
wafaa oqba says
In integrated writing task , it is better to write about what the speaker says and then mention the writer's claim like the sample present in ETS that score 5 OR follow your instructions and templates that follow the opposite order , please inform me .I'm in confusion about that.

The lecturer argues that there are several disadvantages of driverless cars , opposing the reading , which lists the advantages of driverless cars .
Firstly , the lecturer refutes the argument made in the reading passage that softwares are not capable of making mistakes , with their help the rides on the car will be much safer and will reduce the amount of car accidents. He avers that while the computers can not make a mistake , they are made by humans and there might be an error in the code.
Secondly, the lecturer asserts that with the coming of driverless cars it might become even more deleterious to the environment than it was because people will not need any licenses to drive driverless cars , as the result there will be a growth of the amount of cars on the road. This runs counter to the argument made in the reading passage that driverless cars will be superior to the environment.
Finally , the lecturer agrees with the argument made in the reading passage that instead of focusing on driving , you will get extra time during your ride in your driverless car. Nevertheless the lecturer assumes that while you are spending your extra time on work , you might feel a daily routine which you were feeling with an ordinary car which you try to avoid with your new driverless car.

The reading and lecture are both about "driverless car" which has benefits and faults. The author of the reading believes there are many advantages of driverless car technology. The lecture challenges the statements made by the author. He is of the opinion that no one is correct theories about technology.
First of all, the author suggests that the driverless car is safer than operated by a human. It is mentioned that thousands of miles car no chance of accident happen. This argument is challenged by the lecturer. He says that merely last month an accident happened on the thousands of miles. Furthermore, he argues that these cars are made by a human which means error can be also by humans.
Secondly, the writer contends that decrease pollution levels in the environment due to the driverless technology owning to less chance of engine stop. The article notes that also the problem of traffic will reduce. The lecturer, however, rebuts this by asserting that many people will buy a driverless car and will no restriction of age so, everyone can buy.
He elaborates on this by mentioning that the chance of driverless cars will increase which means a lot of cars will available and this causes more emissions in the environment.
Finally, it is stated in the article that the driverless car has more benefits like, during the journey, we can spend time to read, watch videos, and also do other work. The author establishes that the new technology of cars gives time to the passenger instead of focusing on driving. The lecturer, on the other hand, posits that driving the car can reduce stress instead of watch video or read because they feel comfortable to enjoy another type of hobby. He puts forth the idea that it is a waste of time to watch and read and it also diminishes the real enjoyment of driving a car.
There are many argues about an impact our current way of life will have on the future. In my opinion, it will be negative. I will exemplify it with two reasons that I will show in this essay.
First, I think so because the humanity has a great negative impact on Earth's ecology now. Everyone knows about the global warming, and it gets worse and worse with every year. For example, last winter there was a snowfall in southern Asia. In contrast, in the 19th century, no one could imagine United Arabic Emirates covered with snow, because that was not common for their climate. Another example is Arctic glaciers that melt and increase the level of water in oceans, that has negative impact on ocean side countries. These all are the circumstances of global warming caused by our current way of life.
Second, in my opinion, the inequality of today's society will become a great problem. I believe that racism, sexism and another types of discrimination will have a great impact on future generations if we don't stop it now. For instance, it is still a problem for women to earn wages equal to the men's salary, and there is still a problem of police racism against black people. If the problem is not solved, it will be increasing in the future, and it will have a great impact on future society. I believe that this is a relevant example of our negative way of life.
In my opinion, our current way of life will have a great impact on the lives of future generations. I think so because of the increasing global warming, and because of social inequality caused by our current way of life.
Both reading and listening deal with self-driving cars. When the passage talks about the advantages of automatic cars, the lecturer argues against this. There are three topics they are discussing.
First, the passage states that self-driving cars are safer that human-driving ones because most road accidents are made by human error. The author exemplifies it with a self-driving car that rode over one million kilometers without any accident. The lecturer argues with the topic. He states that automatic cars are made by human, so they are not secure from error. He also adds that the car used in the example in reading hit into another car a few months after riding one million kilometers safely.
Second, the writing mentions that self-driving cars will cause less pollution. It stated that it will be so because automatic cars will use their engines more effectively. The lecturer's counterarguments are that they will cause more pollution. He states that with self-driving cars more people begin to drive, because there will be no need for getting a driver license, so there will be more traffic and environmental pollution.
Third, the writer states that self-driving cars will give the passengers more time for themselves. They will not have to drive, so they will be able to spend this time on reading, watching films or another type of entertainment. The lecturer argues that these days more and more drivers find their relax in driving. He states that people spend a lit of time on reading and watching movies at home, and self-driving cars will just become another way to waste time or work, when usual driving is a distraction from their routine.
thank you teacher
