A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

You remember when your dad would turn the volume all the way up for the THX theme or the first chord of the Star Wars theme?
The Sardaukar chant at the very beginning is (or can be) the new incarnation of that, I believe 😅

He cannot become Shai'hulud Kwisatz Haderach "the shortening of the way" because he is Muad'dib. Muad'dib the little mouse; "he who points the way."
He may not cleanse the world and keep it for his people, for he wishes to become unseen. He is Muad'dib the little mouse; "he who points the way."
Jihad was thrust upon him, he will not be almighty because he is the oracle and the blind. He is Muad'dib the little mouse; "he who points the way."
He cannot tread the golden path, his limbs are those of flesh. He is Muad'dib the little mouse; "he who points the way."
Paul Atreides is dead, Shai'hulud is yet unborn. More than a man, less than a god, Muad'dib he will remain. He is Muad'dib the little mouse; "he who points the way."

Not gonna lie I just paid 8.99 for this movie and really wasn't that good. It would have been better if the second one was available.
megas820 says
Does it have 4k quality already? (edit: outside of U.S., if that matters)

The book of "Dune" is fantastic. As far as putting to the screen is perhaps the toughest to do. Although there is debate about how well the remade 2021 version is to the 1984 version. No oscar nominations for the actors, but lots for the visuals. Honestly, there is one that is still the best to me is the 1984 'redux' version which can be found here on Youtube which is just under 4 hours and it gives the complete story with edited and fixed scenes…. The one part of this 2021 version that bugs me is we do not see who or what Padashah Emperor Shadam IV looks like in Part 1.

The strongest use of the Voice we've so far seen from Paul.
And, for you more attentive viewers, you hear no female voices in this use of the Voice….only male….only Paul…

I will never purchase another movie through YouTube:
1) How is 480p "Ultra High Def" (UHD)?
(And yet, required 1080p worth of bandwidth to stream!)
2) Why can't I download the movie that I just paid $21 for?!
(Some of us have to pay for bandwidth out here!)
3) How is $21 justifiable?! … Those are physical disc prices!
(Figured at that price, I'd at least be able to download a DRM'd MPG movie-file)
4) Google's help / support / contact / feedback = Garbage
(Can't even complain!)
BAD USER EXPERIENCE, YOUTUBE…
👎👎👎

If you are a fan of the movie, then, by all means, read the book, Dune, an epic science fiction novel by American author Frank Herbert.

MachinistPro#1 says
good for what it was, but somebody should go to jail for calling it dune . . not even CLOSE to the book . paul cries after he kills his 1st, and THAT sets him as the messiah they then know him to be. fine flick though, a fast-paced 2.5 hours
Just Moah says
why a I forced to watch it on 480p even though I bought it in 4k?
Ryan Manley says
Thufur Hawat's character actor seemed much to familiar; affable and amicable instead of what the mentats really are supposed to be in the actual story: human computer's. He should have been more cold and distant. Bad casting choice maybe but I put it on the director. Also, some of the dialogue quite frankly uses too much modern phrases, like "You good?" And, "You good to go?" Takes away from the gravity of the actual story. The set's are very good though, as are the costumes. The depiction and variety of spacecraft/transports is interesting, and overall I enjoyed the film apart from the mistakes in directorship previously described.
